A small, hard-working team of Engineering and Engineering Technology students with one goal in mind, bringing sustainable energy to the mission fields. There are many mission fields that are in remote places that lack electrical power. It would be very beneficial to the mission field if VERT could help them obtain electrical power. This year's senior design team is sectored into two different sub-teams; transmission and vortex generator. The transmission sub-team's goal is to design, build, and test transmission ideas so that the turbine can provide an electrical generator with the correct input speed to generate electrical power. The vortex generator sub-team's goal is to design, build, and test vortex generator ideas so that in "no wind" situations, the device can create a vortex through the vertical axis of the turbine which would cause the turbine to rotate.
